Picture Day
On Thursday, Regan and I went to Cara's to have the kids pictures taken by her good friend Melissa. Melissa works with Cara, so photography isn't her "day job", but it could be as she's great at it. I appreciate Melissa doing them for us and I'm hoping I can sweet talk her to take some family pictures for us soon.

AFLAC = UGH!
So, we get a letter today from AFLAC that they need me to sign a HIPPA release of information as they need two years of my medical history for a "routine investigation". All this after we've been working with them, did all the paperwork they required(which mean Mom had to run me around several times to get it all from the hospital). I'm so angry that they didn't request this at the beginning as it could take them weeks to figure out my where I was treated from 2008-2010 being that most of that stuff was done in Louisville and NO where on the form did it ask for where my medical records are. How do they know where to get it all from?
It's just a big nightmare. We were told that it's because we haven't had the policy for two years and they've had a lot of fraud with the hard economic times we're in. I get that, but geesh people, why wait almost three weeks to tell us that!
So, my sitter has a friend that works for them and she put us in contact with her since our Rep was not available today(how convenient). She informed us to get the records ourselves and send straight to AFLAC as it would cut down in the processing time. She was super helpful but it's still a pain since I've got NO income coming in and the bills are piling up. Thank God we have some understanding folks that we owe who are "letting us ride" until this is all squared away.
I'm an OCD personality and I do paperwork and processes to the tea when required and don't like surprises, especially when it comes to money!
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day; I have rehab, then a doctor's appointment, then I have some other things on my "to do list" not including calling all my doctors and hospitals in Louisville to try to get my records! What a fun day ahead! Wish me luck!

Saying THANKS just isn't enough!
The last two weeks have been trying to say the least; no driving, no lifting, no working, etc, but they've been hard on everyone else too!
Sean has worried about me 24/7 and I think if we could afford it, he would have hired a babysitter for me. He is so unsure of my health and scared of what might happen next that he's not liked leaving me home alone and especially if I have Regan. And a HUGE kudos to him for not listening to me a year ago when I said "nah, I hate AFLAC(from my experiences with them at my last job) don't sign up. Well, he signed up and put me on the policy anyway without telling me and THANK GOD he did since I am getting ZERO paychecks until mid June!
Mom has been a jewel to say the least. She has driven me to doctor appointments, to the hospital for paperwork, grocery shopping, etc; my own personal Taxi. She has picked Regan up every day, cleaned my house, done my laundry and mowed my yard! I can't say enough how much it means for me that she's been my rock through all of this. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her!
Steve, my Brother-In-Law has been awesome, he has taken care of all my scripts, brought them to me, gone over them for me and even called the doctor about one for me. He's been amazing!
And my Sis! That girl is awesome too! She brought me stuff at the hospital; ear phones, sugar free candy, etc. and then brought me healthy groceries the day I got out of the hospital! I am so appreciative of all the little things she things of in times like this!
And lastly, my new co-workers, they have been great, sending texts and calling to check on me and keeping me posted with the happenings at work, and most importantly, assuring that I get my paychecks. I many not be crazy about the hours/job, but I do enjoy the gals I work with.
I'm a pretty independent chick, so having to depend on someone else for pretty much everything hasn't been easy, but everyone has been so kind and patient with me. I am blessed and surrounded by family and friends that have shown me unconditional love and compassion!
And to all of you reading this that have texted, called, sent cards, sent flowers....I thank each and every single one of you too!

FMLA...NO....Leave of Absence..NOPE....Inactive status...YEP!
A few short days after I got home from the hospital, I received a nasty letter from the Director of Human Resources. He informed me(with a copy of the policy enclosed), that I didn't qualify for FMLA or a Personal Leave of Absence since I had not been employed six months yet. But they would put me on inactive employment status for no more than six weeks before they terminated my employment, and that insurance would terminate in 4 weeks if I wasn't back to work.
Wow! What a nice letter to get to ease the stress right?!
I know every company has a policy and I respect that, but it was the tone of the letter that upset me so much. I mean really? Couldn't you discuss it with my boss and have her make a phone call and be a little more personal and compassionate about it?
So, as it stands, I do have insurance(at least for now) and I do have a job(at least for now), but they don't have to bring me back since I'm not covered/protected by FMLA. I keep in touch with my boss and co-worker's and feel I still have a job but you just never know.
I desperately want a different job, that's no secret to any of you, but until I find one, I need to keep the one I do have.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that everything works out. It usually does and I hope this is no exception.

Cardiac Rehab...Day 1
On Wednesday, May 9th, I had my first cardiac rehab appointment. It went well, I didn't do a lot as it was more paperwork and tests to see how much I could do before they put me on the machines. And I got a tour of the facilities.
I was given 6 minutes to walk as many laps as possible and I did 7 laps, so I thought that was good as did the nurse. But want to know what the first thing she said to me during the initial physical? She said "we have to get you off nights as it's no good for your health". I agreed with her but right now I just have to play it out and see what happens and pray for the best.
I go to my second appointment next Tuesday at 8:00a.m.

The Fresh Beat Band
On Wednesday, May 9th, we went to see The Fresh Beat Band. They were in town performing at the Juanita K. Hammons Auditorium. My Sis gave us the tickets on my Birthday this year and we've been so excited to see them.
They did a great job, even us Mom's and Dad's had a great time. I do feel like it was me and TWO kids as Sean acted just like a little kid and had so much fun.
Regan really enjoyed it, she was so patient waiting for them to come on stage and then she sang and danced, but mostly stared at them in awe, she loved it!
It was nice to get out with my family since I hadn't really done much over the past two weeks aside from doctors appointments!
