Last night I began dissassembling the Christmas decorations. I started by turning off the Christmas tree and beginning to remove the ornaments. All was fine until Regan realized what I was doing. She kept saying "lights", "choo-choo"(we have a Hallmark motion ornament that is a train and she loved pushing the button and watching it move and hearing it "choo-choo"), and "star"(the tree topper, Daddy let her put it on the top and she's been partial to it since). She was not having any part of me taking down the tree, she ended up in a full-blown fit over the lights not being on. I tried to reason with her and she was just pitiful, she was so upset about the whole situation.
I stopped my removal of Christmas until she went to bed. Once she went to bed, I got it all down and surprise, surprise, the first thing she did when she got up this morning was come to the living room and say "oh no, lights?"
My Aunt suggested that we put a small tree in her bedroom and so my search was on. I didn't want a green traditional looking tree to keep up all year. So, I found a white tree, some lights, and even some Dora ornaments. I ordered it all at a great price and can't wait to get it and set it up for her. I figure we can decorate it all year round for each Season. I'll be sure to share some pics when "lights" arrive!

Growing Up!
Santa brought Regan a toddler bed and Dora bedding for Christmas, so last night we decided to give our first trial run in the "big" bed.
She went to sleep in it with no issues and not once did she get out and wonder around the room in delight of her new found freedom, instead, she fell fast asleep with her new Dora doll from Auntie Cara and slept for about two hours or so before our first issue; she fell out of the bed! She wasn't hurt, but she screamed as if she was being murdered, I guess it really freaked her out, which I totally understand, I mean to go from sound asleep to BAM right onto the floor. Luckily it isn't very far from the floor, so there's not serious risk of injury involved. So, we scooped her up and comforted her and in a few minutes she was ready to go back to bed. She fell fast asleep again and was fine for about another hour or so and Sean decided to peek in on her and found that she was on the floor, but this time hadn't made a sound and was stil asleep on the floor! He put her back in the bed with no problems.
She went the rest of the night without falling out or getting up, so all in all it was a successful first night.
However, my Sister did point out how sad it was due to the fact that she's growing up and she's right, that little baby grew fast into a toddler and now each day brings new things that only make me realize that she is indeed growing up so fast. I miss my newborn baby!
"I don't want her to grow up, I want her to be a baby forever" (sing that in your head to the "I don't wanna grow up, I wanna be a toysrus kid" tune, LOL)

Our First Christmas.......
Okay, so just like Thanksgiving, it wasn't really our First Christmas, however, it was our first Christmas since we moved to Nixa.
Mom came over on Thursday and then we spent the night as a family at Cara and Steve's on Christmas Eve. We wanted Mom to be able to enjoy seeing both girls on Christmas morning when they saw all their stuff from Santa.
We had a great Christmas. Christmas Eve we enjoyed pizza and snacks and helped Santa assemble a few things. Everyone was in bed by 1a.m. or so; except me! I never seem to sleep much anymore so I was up until around 2a.m. and decided to attempt to get some sleep. I never fell asleep before Regan woke up at 3a.m. and was wide awake! She went to bed a little earlier than usual and I expected her to get up early, but not that early. She was awake for about an hour or so before she went back to sleep. It was a challenge keeping her quiet and entertained but with baby dolls and a rocking chair, we managed!
We woke to Steve making breakfast for us and it was pretty tasty! He's not so bad in the kitchen, wonder if he can give Sean a few lessons?
After we all finally got up and everyone had a full belly it was Santa time! We took the girls downstairs to see what Santa left and they were so cute! They didn't just dive right in, they cautiously walked around checking everything out saying "wow, Dora, Mick Me(mickey mouse), and cool". The slide was definetely a hit with the keyboard a close second!
We had a great time despite Mom, Cara, Sean and Charlotte not feeling 100%, they all have head colds but they toughed it out and were troopers and enjoyed the day.
We came home Christmas evening and Santa had left Regan a slide and toddler bed, Regan enjoyed the slide a bit, tried out her new bed and then amazyingly went right to sleep in her new bed at bedtime, and so far, so good!
We are blessed to be surrounded by family and we enjoy all the time we get to spend together. I'm so glad we are here in Nixa to savor such special moments and make such awesome memories with the girls!

"All Aboard!"
Sunday we took the girls to Branson to ride The Polar Express.
I must admit that after we went to the one in Connersville, IN last year, I had high expections as it was awesome and I was hoping this year would be just as great or better. We weren't disappointed, it was really nice. I was very pleased with the seating, we opted for first class tickets and I'm so glad we did. We had tables and chairs, got a souveneir mug and Sean was very pleased with the unlimited hot chocolate and cookies.
The girls had fun, Charlotte is a little socialite, so she was dancing in the aisles while Regan stayed close to one of us. The silly girl wouldn't even let us take off her coat, hat and gloves, she wore them the entire time, but dispite looking like the little bundled up kid in the Christmas Story movie, she had a good time!
We sang Christmas songs, enjoyed hot chocolate and cookies, read The Polar Express book, saw The North Pole and of course we saw Santa, Mrs. Clause and their elves, we got our tickets punched by The Conductor and saw a lot of Christmas lights..
After the train ride, we went to see The Festival Lights which were amazing! It's awesome to spend quality time with my family! Can't wait to do it again next year! More Polar Express Pictures

"Making Memories....." ~ Nonna
Mom and my Aunt Michelle came over to spend the weekend. On Saturday, Charlotte came over while my Sis was cleaning house and getting ready for a Christmas party.
Mom made the girls Christmas aprons and had a gingerbread cookie kit she wanted to make with the girls. I know what you're thinking.....my Mom is crazy to think that a two year old and a 20 month old are gonna sit still long enough to make and decorate cookies? Well, you might be partially right in your thinking, but the girls did awesome!
So, this kit that Mom bought had everything included, the cookies were premade, it had sprinkles and it had icing, or did it have icing? Hmm, well, yes, it did having icing but you had to mix it up and Mom didn't realize that so the girls are sitting at the table ready to rock and roll and Nonna has to make the icing. No big deal you say right? Well, maybe not, the girls were munching on the ready made cookies and my Aunt Michelle was entertaining them quite well and then we hear it, we hear Nonna say "oh no I messed it up"! What's that you say? You messed it up? How? "It calls for two tablespoons of milk and I just poured it in, so it's runny, she says". She asked if I have any powdered sugar and I thought I did but I didn't. So, she's trying to figure out what she can do to thicken it up but we couldn't come up with a solution. Well, we could, but not an edible one! So, off to Walmart she goes to get some icing. While she's away, the girls continue on eating cookies and remove themself from the table to play a bit and then when Nonna returns, she excites them back over to the table to make cookies.
The girls were so stinkin' cute in their aprons and they really were trying their best to put the icing and sprinkles on. They did exceptionally well with a little help of course.
Regardless of the little icing set back or how the cookies looked, it was great fun and to quote Nonna..."it's all about making memories" More "making memories" pictures

"I'm ready when the Good Lord decides to take me....." ~ Betty Brown
On Thanksgiving morning the Good Lord did just that, he took my Granny.
Granny had been battling illness off and on for months and she is now in the arms of God. If ever there were someone deserving to be let through the gates of heaven, it was her. She was the most loving, caring, and compassionate woman I've ever known and I am blessed to call her my Granny.
She had a hard life but never let it get her down, she always had a smile on her face, I never saw her sad or cry except when she had to bury her husband and four of her children. Even on her 80th Birthday when she was so sick, she said "this is one of the happiest days"! She loved being surrounded by her family and loved each and every one of us with such deep love and devotion. She made you feel as if you were the most special person in the world, when reality was, SHE was the special one!
I have such special and fond memories of my Granny and I thank God for each and every one of them from going to her house before school with Dad to eat breakfast to the massive food spreads she would prepare for family gatherings and the Holidays.
The selfish part of me is sad that she's gone, but I know she's at peace with God and is dancing in heaven with the loved ones that went before her. Granny, I love you and miss you.

Our First Thanksgiving....
Okay, so it's not our first Thanksgiving, but it was our first Thanksgiving in Nixa!
My Sis was hostess to the family this year, there were 17 of us. It was so great that so many were able to make the trip to celebrate us. It meant a lot for everyone to "break" tradition and come here, normally we all have it at Mom's and that is a long enough trip for some, but to come even further and spend it here was awesome!
The Holidays are about family and friends and this year will always hold a special place in my heart for many reasons! Great food, great family, and great fun, now that's what it's all about!
My Regaboo is 2!
It's hard to believe, but Regan turned two on November 26th. I'm not sure where the time has gone, but I want it back. Now, I truly do know what they mean when they say "time flies when you're having fun"!
I still wake up and have to pinch myself sometimes; "is this a dream or is this really my life?" I can't imagine my life any different. I'm lucky to have a loving husband and beautiful little girl; and as cliche' as it sounds, "they complete me"!
We celebrated her Dora themed Birthday, on Thanksgiving since we had so many family in Nixa for the holiday. Mom made her Dora cake and she got lots of presents; mostly art themed since she is really into drawing and coloring. She loves them all!

To new things...
Here's to trying new things! With the New Year always brings new things, change, resolutions, etc, and for me I have two things I will ring in with the New Year; a blog and a weightloss journey!
I'm a blog virgin; I write notes on facebook but haven't made official "blogger" status yet. My Sister has had a blog for a few years now and I love it; I love reading her stories and seeing pictures and videos and decided I should do it too. I know, I'm a big copy cat, meow!
I'm not as design suavy as she is, so my poor little blog will pale in comparison to hers, but hey, we all have to start somewhere right?
So, join me as I take you on adventures with The Partaker's!
